1. Match the app to a concrete travel job
This comparison is published by Travvy and uses official product descriptions checked on 6 October 2026. It evaluates documented workflows, without assigning performance scores or declaring an overall winner. Features and purchase conditions can change.
Start with one practical question. Do you need a three-day itinerary, a shared place to organize existing bookings, help researching neighborhoods, or narration for an afternoon walk? A useful choice follows that task. The AI label alone tells you little about downloads, route guidance or who can change a saved plan.
- Flexible city break: compare how a broad itinerary becomes a route for one day.
- Group planning: check whether companions can view, submit edits or work together in real time.
- Ready-made visit: check that the exact destination, attraction and language have usable content.
2. Travvy: move from a multi-day Trip to a city Tour
Travvy uses Trips for multi-day itineraries and Tours for self-guided routes. Start a Trip with destinations, timing, budget, interests and travel style. For a Tour, provide a starting point, available time, interests and transport preferences. This suits a city break where the whole stay and the next few hours need different levels of detail.
An eligible Trip day can become a standalone walking Tour using that day’s activities and preferences as context. Review the resulting stops: it creates a focused route rather than copying every meal, transfer and break. Audio generation is a separate request after the Tour is ready.
Ask Travvy can answer questions and submit supported changes to saved plans you are allowed to edit. New Trips and Tours start in their respective creation flows, not in chat. Generation, new questions and changes need a connection. Full multi-day Trip downloads are not supported; eligible Tour downloads are covered below.

3. Wanderlog and Layla: organization or expert-supported planning
Wanderlog brings the itinerary and map together, organizes reservations and lets travel companions plan together in real time. Its official site also lists an AI assistant and downloadable trip plans, with offline access included in its Pro offering. It is worth considering when the main task is keeping places, dates and booking details organized with other people.
Layla describes personalized day-by-day planning from dates, destinations, budget and travel style, with optional help from human travel experts. Its experts can also arrange bookings and changes. Consider that workflow when you want someone involved in planning and booking a more complex trip.
These are different kinds of help. Keeping an existing reservation in an itinerary does not itself make a new booking. Before paying, confirm which service handles the purchase, changes and cancellations, and check the current feature limits for your account.
4. Audioguíame and iWander: choose the source of your audio route
Audioguíame distributes audio guides created by museums, monuments and other tourism organizations. You download the relevant guide to your device and can listen offline afterward. It suits a visit centered on existing content from a participating attraction. Check which guides and languages the venue actually offers before arriving.
iWander’s current site describes two choices: walking tours made by local experts and custom AI walking tours based on a city or neighborhood, starting point, duration and themes. Its site explicitly advertises offline use for expert-made tours and describes sharing tours by link. Treat the expert-made catalog and a newly generated route as distinct options when choosing your walk.
If you want narration ready for a specific visit, inspect the available guide first. If you want a route built around your own time and interests, compare the custom-tour workflow. Neither a downloaded attraction guide nor a walking route automatically organizes hotels and transport across a whole trip.
5. ChatGPT: research options, then choose where the plan lives
ChatGPT can help explore destinations, compare possible days and refine questions through conversation. OpenAI documents web search with current information and links to sources. Check search availability and usage limits for your account or workspace before relying on it during the trip.
For travel research, give it dates, a starting area, interests and fixed commitments. Ask it to check official sources for the details that affect your day, then inspect those sources yourself. A conversational answer still needs a clear home for confirmed reservations, the latest itinerary and any downloaded material you intend to use.
You can combine tools deliberately: research a neighborhood in ChatGPT, organize shared booking details in Wanderlog, or create a focused city Tour in Travvy. Keep one agreed version of the schedule so a suggestion in one app is not mistaken for a confirmed change elsewhere.
6. Check offline preparation, sharing and cost before choosing
In Travvy, available assets can be downloaded for eligible Tours with Plus or when the Tour was created using a Tour Pack. Generate any desired audio and finish the download while connected. New plans, changes, questions and live checks still need internet access. Downloaded material cannot confirm today’s opening hours or ticket availability.
Travvy Tour owners can share view or edit links. Edit access allows supported asynchronous changes; there is no real-time co-editing workspace. Public Trip share links are not currently available. This distinction matters if your group’s main requirement is jointly maintaining a multi-day itinerary.
Before committing to any app, check the exact offline contents, destination coverage, language, device availability and purchase terms. Compare the features you will use, including renewal conditions, rather than relying on an old price table. A short trial with one real day will reveal whether the workflow fits how you travel.
- Open the downloaded material before departure and check that the route or audio you need is present.
- Reconfirm time-sensitive details with the attraction, transport operator or booking provider.
- Decide who maintains the itinerary and which changes companions are permitted to make.
